Linking Students and Manufacturers

By Karen Myhaver, Manufacturing YOUR Career Coordinator, MassMEP

Access to Mass MEP's Manufacturing YOUR Career, Manufacturing LINK is now being provided to Massachusetts high schools who are interested in using the tool to research manufacturers and the manufacturing industry in our state. The Manufacturing LINK also provides information to help schools connect with manufacturers to schedule plant tours, invite them to career fairs, to mentor students and post internships, co-ops, part-time, or entry-level positions.

Linking Students and Manufacturers

Manufacturing is an industry where you can truly work your way up. There are many great career opportunities, in addition to the actual production of a product. Some require college while others require a good work ethic and the desire to learn.

Typically, manufacturing pays better than other industries and offers terrific benefits, including tuition reimbursement. This allows an employee to try different positions within a company, find an area of interest, and then take college courses towards their degree without incurring debt. It allows the manufacturers to invest in and build their future workforce.
