Job Opportunities

Greene Rubber Company (GRC) is a custom manufacturer, converter and value-added distributor of rubber and related materials. As a result of its growth, a challenging opportunity exists for Quality Technician at its Woburn MA facility.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you’ll process Return Material Authorizations (RMA’S) and coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) activities. In doing so, you’ll investigate complaints by getting complete details, working closely with production, engineering, inside sales and others to identify the root cause of non-compliances. You’ll also interact with suppliers and customers in defining problems and bringing the issues to resolution.

Utilizing blueprints/drawings and calipers, gauges and other instrumentation, you’ll take a hands-on role in inspecting materials and products. Additionally, you’ll apply problem solving tools such as Pareto charts, Fishbone diagrams and other continuous improvement methods to analyze data and come to factual conclusions in collaboration with others. Entry and reporting of COPQ data, as well as automated tracking of complaints, authorized returns and supplier materials required. Focus on continuous improvement and commitment to meeting customer requirements are key ingredients for success as Quality Technician.
Responsibilities entail, but aren’t limited to:

  • Operating inspection equipment; conducting product, material and process inspections, including first article inspections
  • Defining the root cause of complaints, including research, hands-on measurement, analysis and working with others to develop corrective and preventive action
  • Writing Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests(SCARs); working with suppliers and GRC management team to get timely responses
  • On-going monitoring for timely resolution, reviewing for accurate root cause and preventive action, working with Quality Manager for guidance and approval
  • Processing RMA’s; coordinating MRB activities and conclusions
  • Tracking data in Excel and Vantage software
  • Logging COPQ data and distributing reports for Management Review
  • Adhering to safety, security, environmental policies  and proper use of equipment and materials procedures
  • Complying with IS0 9001-2008 and TS16949 Standards; acting as a role model assisting others in following Quality Management System
  • Acting as coordinator for customer support programs such as RoHS compliance, custom packaging and surveys

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned, including participating in and potentially conducting quality audits; supporting quality inspection and initiatives for GRC’s custom molding facility in CT.
Requirements include:

  • HS diploma required; associates’ degree strongly preferred
  • 3 years’  problem solving and corrective action implementation in a manufacturing environment
  • ASQ certification preferred
  • Ability to read drawings/ blueprints
  • Strong math skills to compute tolerances, fractions and conversions from metric to English
  • English speaking ability to follow and interpret verbal and written work instructions and write basic correspondence- emails/ reports
  • Presentation skills to share information one-on-one and in small groups with employees, customers and suppliers
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to use measuring tools and hands-on capability to work on projects without supervision
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel expert; Understanding of QMS software; knowledge of Vantage, a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Organizational skills to track open items;  persistence in follow-up and solid time management skills
  • US citizenship
