Job Opening: Quality Manager/Continuous Improvement Manager, Northbridge, MA

Riverdale Mills is looking for a Quality Manager/Continuous Improvement Manager who will be responsible for driving Continuous Improvement, creating a living culture that challenges the status quo and behaviors of all plant employees.

Requirements
Develop process improvement initiatives in order to benefit the quality System via individual peers and/or cross-functional teams.

Review plant production equipment environment (e.g., technology, systems, quality, cost, efficiencies, yield) in order to recommend process improvements.

Document current state processes and business systems and compare to benchmarking data and/or best practices in order to identify performance gaps.

Monitor and report on the health of the Quality and Business systems via Key Measurement Data as provided through the effectiveness of Corrective/Preventative Action Reports, Internal and External complaint trends, and the results of Audits of all System Elements.

Provide direction, leadership and coaching to all employees in order to keep the CI initiative alive and functioning within all aspects of Administrative, Management, Support, Manufacturing, Shipping, and After-sale services.

Implement, evaluate and maintain effective application of The Quality System in order to ensure product quality meets or surpasses the customer's expectations.

Make recommendations to management about how to resolve barriers and obstacles in order to constantly improve end results to both internal and external customers.

Technical Skills
Process Improvement:

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and develop systems-based solutions that will improve current state.
  • Ability to analyze, and understand dimensional drawing, plans, customer specifications and/or blue prints, and institute them into actual measurement techniques within the manufacturing environment.

Process Management:

  • Knowledge of process definitions, flow-charting, and process management techniques.

Statistical Process Control:

  • Knowledge and application of statistical tools and techniques (e.g., X-bar, histograms and range charting) used to understand, monitor, and control work processes.
  • Knowledge of specific industry standards (i.e. ASTM) and ISO9000 systems and operating methods within RMC's chosen product markets.
  • Knowledge of the impact, interdependencies, and relationships that each function within the process chains and how they impact all other functions.
